Nueva Vizcaya (NVSU) emerged from premier educational institutions in the province: Nueva Vizcaya State Institute of Technology (founded 1916) in Bayombong and Nueva Vizcaya State Polytechnic College (1946) in Bambang.

The then NVSIT in Bayombong, the Education Centrum of Nueva Vizcaya, is now home to the NVSU Main Campus while former NVSPC in Bambang, the Trade and Commerce Hub of the province, to the Satellite Campus.

Chartered in 2004, the University aims to propel its machinery in the service of its clientele by strengthening its thrusts in Instruction, Research, Extension, Technology and Production.

Strong producer of high-calibre professionals, as evidenced by high passing rate in the fields of agriculture, education, engineering and forestry. Trailblazer in different academic undertakings such as quiz-bee competitions, skills olympics, sports arena and in culture and the arts. Globally competitive in bringing students for their on the job-trainings to other countries like Israel, Singapore, Australia and Thailand. COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

It serves as a service college and is tasked of providing a broad general education courses in humanities, natural and social sciences, mathematics and languages supportive of the different programs of the five other colleges of the University.
For the past 12 years, the BS Mathematics graduates of the College have performed remarkably well in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and the Professional Board Examinations for Teachers (PBET) surpassing the national passing average every year. It posted a 100% passing rate thrice in 1994, 1997 and 1999.

Advancements in information technology as manifested by the wide use of computing devices by the society triggered the need for supplying professionals trained in said field. With this, the College has strengthened its BS Computer Science Degree offering, which accounts to the largest student population share in Bayombong Campus.
