NVSU Opening Exercises kicks off

With warmest welcome and words of insights, the Nueva Vizcaya State University hailed its students specially the freshmen and transferees during the annual opening exercises and orientation program in Bayombong Campus on June 22, 2009 at the university gymnatorium to officially open school year 2009-2010.

“I am giving you an assurance that while you are in NVSU you will have a home”, thus said University President, Dr. Marilou G. Abon during the opening rites. She also mentioned the major accomplishments and achievements of the university so students would have an idea of what NVSU takes pride in.

To commence said program with blessings and gratitude, a holy mass was held prior to the opening exercises and orientation program proper. During the opening rites, key officials, faculty and staff were duly introduced to the whole student body. Members of the Administrative Council and General Administration and Support Services were introduced by Mr. Mark Preston S. Lopes, Chief of the Presidential Management Staff. In addition, the workforce of the academic sector was introduced by college and units led by their respective Deans and Directors.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jacinto L. Cabalonga expressed his deepest gratitude to the students in choosing NVSU as their home of learning and he also welcomed all the students and wished them to finish their respective degrees with honors.

Part two of the program which is the orientation proper was held in the afternoon. For this part, only freshmen and transferees attended lectures and presentations of different student programs and services for their welfare under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs’ Director, Prof. Policarpio S. Garing Jr. 
Guided by the same purpose and significance, Bambang Campus also held its opening program along with the wreath laying ceremony for Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19, 2009. This school year is expected to be more fruitful in terms of academic undertakings and more successful in national and global collaborations to further push NVSU into achieving its vision of excellence and peace.
