NVSU Crop Protection and Analytical Laboratory to rise in 2018

A laboratory that will serve as the regional crop protection center will soon rise at Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) on the last week of November 2018. It will focus on pests, diseases, inland weeds. The laboratory will also immerse on entomology, which is the study of insects.For undergraduate and graduate students, the laboratory will also provide a workplace for taxonomic characterization, identification of causal organisms, identification of plant diseases, and taxonomical work.According to Dr. Jonar Yago, Director of Research and Development program and one of the proponents, Ms. Gina Dizon, through plant indexing "we aim to have quality planting materials, like seedlings of banana, citrus, and rambutan."The Analytical Crop Protection Laboratory w...

Citrus Germplasm Screen House and Citrus Training Center are Country's First

Two new support facilities for citrus will be established in NVSU this year; the Germplasm Screen House and the Citrus Training Center. The structures will complement the on-going construction of the Philippine Citrus Resources Development Center (PCRDC) which is the first in the country.According to Dr. Elbert A. Sana, Director of Citrus Resources Research and Development Center (CRRDC), the establishment of the Philippine Citrus Resources Development Center supports the Citrus program of the university. 10 NVSU Technologies Qualified for IPR Assistance from DOST-TAPI thru IP Audit

Ten (10) technologies generated from various projects funded by the DOST and other funding agencies qualified for IPR assistance from the Department of Science and Technology - TAPI during the Intellectual Property (IP) Audit conducted on February 26, 2018, at the REBD Conference Hall.The IP Audit aims to facilitate the IP protection of the possibly novel technologies from these selected projects conducted by various researchers of the institution.
