In its effort to revolutionize and make its admission process more convenient and accessible, the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) Testing Center in partnership with the Departments of Computer Science and Information Technology, launched an online pre-admission system.
The introduction of the system, dubbed as the "Online Pre Application for College Admission Test" or OPCAT, will help address challenges that aspiring NVSU students face during the pre-application process. Among these challenges is the need for applicants from distant places to personally visit the university and process their application.
With the online admission system, applicants from distant municipalities, as well as from the neighboring provinces like Isabela, Quirino, Ifugao, Nueva Ecija, and other provinces will now be able to apply for a pre-admission online, ultimately saving them time and money.
In order to apply online, the applicant will first need to create an OPCAT account. He/she will then be asked to input basic information and will be required to upload a digitally scanned copy of his/her credentials. Once the system tags the application as complete, it will then be reviewed by the Director of the NVSU Testing Center, Prof. Josefina S. Sana. Once approved, the system will send a confirmation message to the applicant bearing the date and location of his/her examination.
OPCAT was developed by the Departments of Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) of the College of Arts and Sciences and was launched in time for the opening of the SY 2018-2019.
