The College of Industrial Technology traces its roots from the Trade Technical Course of the then Nueva Vizcaya School of Arts and Trades with the following trade courses: Automotive, Building Construction, Furniture and Laboratory Making, Ceramics, Computer, Drafting, Food trades, Cosmetology, Electronics, Electrical, Air-Conditioning and Welding which later became the Nueva Vizcaya State Polytechnic College.

In 2000, the then College of Technology was converted into the College of Industrial Technology with continuous trade technical courses as teachers of the program BS in Industrial Education. Diploma of Technology (DT), a 3-year course was also offered in the selected major field of specialization such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Welding and Automotive. That time, Trade in Industrial Technician Education (TITE) was extended to students which is a two(2) year course. Immediately after Diploma in Technology, a 3-year course was also opened and expanded Diploma in Engineering Technician (DET). Concurrently, the College of Industrial Technology, arose the different programs, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Management, Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology, Bachelor of Science in Garments Technology and Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management.

Today, the CIT has four (4) bachelor’s programs, namely, Bachelor of Industrial Technology with 4 major clusters, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.

At present, the College of Industrial Technology was mandated by the thrust of the College and as the flagship college of NVSU Bambang Campus to preserve and uphold its humble beginnings and to work intensively moving the gear of the skilled programs by deploying students to the different host training establishments local and national with continuing accreditation of all the programs in pursuit for quests to the excellent quality of education which is an opportunity for our graduates to be employed and to continue soaring high towards the attainment of the university’s vision for global standards.
