Nueva Vizcaya State University Celebrates Student Organizations Mass Induction

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – October 24, 2023 – The Nueva Vizcaya State University's Bayombong Campus came alive with vibrant energy as they hosted the annual Student Organizations Mass Induction ceremony at the NVSU Gymnasium. The event, held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, was a grand celebration of the university's diverse and dynamic student organizations.

The program began with the solemn Entrance of Colors, presented by the NVSU ROTC Unit, setting the tone for an event filled with respect and honor. Following this, Dr. Jonathan P. Pasion, Department Chairperson of Student Development Programs & Services of the Student Affairs & Services Office, led the invocation, seeking blessings for the incoming student leaders.

Francheska Lois G. Chua, Northern Campus Supreme Student Council (NCSSC) Secretary for Academic Year (AY) 2023-2024, then led the gathering in the National Anthem and the Vizcaya Hymn, creating a sense of unity and pride among the attendees.

The Opening Salvo, creatively presented by Ayug ken Tignay, marked the beginning of the formal program, followed by an Opening and Welcome Remarks delivered by Dr. Jane D. Navalta, Director of Instruction & Curriculum Development, representing Dr. Elma P. Apostol, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Inspirational message was delivered by Dr. Cristina R. Salvosa, Vice President for Administration & Finance, who represented Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr., University President. She emphasized the importance of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it.

The event also saw the ceremonial Turnover of the Key of Responsibility, with Mr. Jesse James C. Sesbreño, NCSSC Vice Chairperson for AY 2022-2023, representing Mr. Keneith M. Natura, NCSSC Chairperson for AY 2022-2023, and Mr. Aldrin James P. Calantas, NCSSC Chairperson for AY 2023-2024.

Hon. Atty. Jose “Jing” V. Gambito, the Governor of the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, graced the occasion as the Keynote Speaker and Inducting Officer. He inspired the student leaders with his insights on governance and the power of youth leadership.

Dr. Salvosa, along with Dr. Navalta, Dr. Arvin P. Vallesteros, the Campus Administrator for Bayombong, Mr. Angel L. Genato, IV, the Student Affairs & Services Director, and Mr. Calantas then awarded Certificate of Appreciation and token to the Keynote Speaker, acknowledging his significant contribution to the event.

Following this, Hon. Jose “Jing” V. Gambito officiated the Oath-taking of Officers and Advisers, emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership and mentorship within student organizations.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of Certificates of Recognition to a multitude of student organizations across various categories, including fraternities and sororities, religious organizations, non-college-based organizations, and college-based organizations.

The event concluded with the Closing Remarks by Dr. Vallesteros.

As the attendees, including students, faculty, and staff, united to sing the NVSU Hymn, the atmosphere was brimming with pride and a sense of belonging.

The event was hosted by Mr. Jaylord V. Bacani, making the ceremony not just a formal induction but also a memorable and engaging experience for all participants.

After the program, a dinner and socialization event provided an opportunity for the student leaders to connect, fostering camaraderie and collaboration that will be instrumental in shaping the university's future.
