NVSU supports integrated NSTP program for disaster preparedness, civic service

To better equip students with practical skills and readiness in responding to disasters and community emergencies, Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) partnered with the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, the Philippine Army, CHED Region II, and the Office of Civil Defense Region II through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the integration of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) held at Ituy Hall, Capitol Compound, May 12.

The partnership aims to strengthen NSTP by harmonizing Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS) into a more unified and action-oriented training framework that includes disaster response preparedness, community immersion, and reservist development pathways for students.

Led by University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr., NVSU will play a key role in the implementation of the program by overseeing student participation, monitoring training outcomes, and maintaining records of NSTP graduates who may be tapped for disaster response and reservist service.

The initiative highlights the shared commitment of partner agencies in developing disciplined, civic-minded, and disaster-ready youth who can contribute meaningfully to community resilience and national service.
